Volunteering & Local Outreach

As a member of the Executive Committee of my local Democratic party, I work to improve voter turnout, support voter registration drives, and rally support for local candidates. In addition to this work, I also help coach my local high school soccer team, which is currently tied for the most state championships in the United States (interestingly, with President Obama’s alma mater, Punahou).

Beyond these efforts, I’ve worked with organizations wherever I’ve lived to support local community efforts in healthcare, politics, and mentorship:

The Arena

A group founded in the wake of the 2016 election by former Obama and Hillary aides, I worked with the Arena in NYC to support candidates running for congress in 2018, including a future Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

iMentor

Another NYC-based program, iMentor was a college-mentoring program for high school students in primarily first-generation college-going families that I joined in 2016. I was proud to be able to help a young man named Victor gain entry to a few CUNYs.

White River Junction VA Hospital

At the VA, I volunteered with a group of friends to go and speak with the veterans in the inpatient wing every week about their experiences, their plans, and their day-to-day.

Lebanon Charter School

LCS is a high school in Lebanon, NH for students who have found the local public schools inflexible to their needs. I volunteered on a weekly basis for six months, speaking, cooking, and playing sports or instruments with the students.
